Salicylic, Glycolic, Mandelic or Lactic Peel
We offer several gentle “lunchtime peels” that can improve your skin without disrupting your busy life. Select one of these starter peels that offer a superficial peel with no downtime. They are a great option for taking “baby steps” toward healthy skin, or they may be used to maintain that lovely, healthful glow.
How they are used?
These luxurious, light chemical peels refresh and rejuvenate the skin gently without the discomfort or downtime that is associated with some aggressive techniques. Many of these gentle peels feature the same active ingredients used in pampering facial treatments.
- Salicylic Peel – Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid, which is derived from willow bark. It is a reliable, safe peel for all types and colors of skin. It is beneficial for many skin concerns, particularly rosacea and acne.
- Glycolic Peel – Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, which is derived from sugar cane. It is an excellent exfoliator, improving the overall tone and texture of skin. It may also be used to improve blackhead-prone or acne-prone skin.
- Mandelic Peel – Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, which is derived from bitter almonds. It is a wonderful treatment for acne, as well as reduces the early signs of aging and sun damage. It is especially gentle and may cause less irritation than other light peels, even for sensitive skin.
- Lactic Peel – Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, which is derived from dairy products. It is known as one of the mildest skin peeling agents, and it is especially beneficial for individuals with rosacea or sensitive skin.
- Lacti-Bright Peel – The Lacti-Bright is a wonderfully light, refreshing peel that can reduce dark spots or hyperpigmentation, as well as improves the texture and overall appearance of skin.
- Milk Peel – The milk peel is recommended for the improvement of fine lines, loss of tone, and dull complexion. It rejuvenates the skin, stimulating the epidermis and restoring radiance to the complexion.
- Cosmo Peel – The Cosmo peel features a blend of anti-aging ingredients, including TCA. It is recommended for fine lines, texture irregularities, smoker’s complexion and pigment disorders. A 30-day post-procedure skin care regimen is included.
- Spot Peel – This medium peel is an excellent depigmenting solution for pigment spots, melasma, and post inflammatory pigmentation. It promotes a homogeneous complexion and reduces pigment spots. A 30-day post-procedure skin care regimen is included.
- Jessner’s Peel ¬– With a unique blend of complimentary active ingredients, the Jessner’s peel revitalizes and renews skin like none other. Beta hydroxy acid (salicylic acid) exfoliates deep within the pore lining to dissolve obstructing comedones as alpha hydroxy acid (lactic acid) renews the surface of the skin.
- Light Jessner's Peel – This formula is even gentler than the standard Jessner’s peel. It improves skin texture and exfoliates with minimal flaking.
- Light Jessner’s Bright Peel – This version of the popular Jessner’s peel features skin brightening ingredients to reduce pigmentation problems.
- Ultra Jessner’s Peel – An Ultra Jessner’s peel is a great way to improve skin tone and texture, acne prone or oily skin, and helps correct sun damage as well as improves mild scarring. It also controls oiliness, active acne, and fine lines.
How do they work?
These gentle peels may be used alone, or as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. They are extremely safe and highly customizable. They cause the skin to shed its outermost layer, revealing a refreshed and rejuvenated layer of healthy new skin. It is important to note that some peels are not appropriate for patients with Resorcinol reactions, or severe milk or aspirin allergies. If you have any of these conditions, be sure to tell us.
Recovery and results
The depth of the peel depends on the strength of the product used, which typically varies from 10 to 70 percent. The stronger formulas achieve more dramatic results, but there is a greater risk of irritation. None of these peels are deemed as “deep” or “aggressive.” The procedure can be completed in a lunch hour with little to no immediate visible aftereffects. There may be some flaking, but it can easily be disguised with cosmetics. Within a few days to a week, the full results develop and your skin acquires a lovely, healthy glow.
