Crown and Bridge Albuquerque

When patients hear of restorative dentistry, dental crowns and bridges often come to mind. Both are used regularly in dental work to restore the smile and keep it looking great, while protecting the natural teeth and maintaining oral functionality. Both are effective and available at Ivory Dental.
Dental crowns
Dental crowns are ceramic restorations made to cover the natural tooth. Often referred to as “caps,” these restorations are done quickly and easily at Ivory Dental and provide protection of the existing natural teeth.
Dental bridges
Dental bridges are used for tooth replacement. They use a false tooth known as a pontic, which is fused to a dental crown on each side, creating a single restoration that bonds in place over natural adjacent teeth for support. This restoration is more permanent than a denture but less costly than a dental implant.
How long do bridges and crowns take?
In a traditional dental office, the fabrication of restorations such as crowns and bridges can take weeks. Additionally, most dentists use impressions that have uncomfortable “goop” that can be difficult to manage. Instead, our practice uses today’s technology to fabricate same-day restorations. We use a CAD/CAM system called CEREC. It is:
- Fast
- Simple
- Precise
- Effective
- Affordable
- Same-day
Many patients are excited to learn about the use of digital impressions and CEREC technology to achieve a more beautiful, fully-functioning smile in just one appointment, instead of dealing with temporaries and having to schedule future visits in the dental chair.
