First Dental Visit

Your child’s first dental visit is to help your child get used to being at the dentist and to help them feel comfortable. The first visit is usually 30-45 minutes. This time allows Dr Brown and her staff to get to know your child and any concerns or habits that they might have. Dr Brown will examine their teeth, jaw and gums for normal growth and development. We will also review and demonstrate brushing and flossing techniques. If needed, a gentle cleaning can be done to remove plaque, tater and stains. We then follow up with fluoride to help protect for child’s teeth. X-rays are not typically done until the child is about 2-3 years old when they can sit still.
