Bad Breath

Bad breath is also known as halitosis, and it is a chronic oral condition. If you find yourself chewing gum, or mouthrinsing often and find no relief to the odor, you may have halitosis.

What causes chronic bad breath?

  • Poor Dental Health: Bacteria in the mouth that cause dental cavities and gum disease is the biggest culprit when it comes to developing halitosis. Treating your gum disease and tooth decay will alleviate the condition.
  • Smoking or tobacco use.
  • Nose and throat infections: If you’re battling a sinus infection, you may find yourself developing halitosis.
  • Allergies
  • Dry mouth: If you lack a steady flow of saliva to rinse your oral cavity of food debris, bacteria in your mouth will cause bad breath. Dry mouth can also be caused by certain medications, smoking, or excessive caffeine.
