Q: If I have a twitch of my eyelid, and my eye doctor in NYC wants to treat it with Botox, will it help my Crow's feet?

A: Possibly. The cosmetic use of Botox for wrinkles near the eyes was noted when an ophthalmologist who was injecting Botox for essential blepharospasm, noted that her patients were commenting that their lines were improving. The eye doctor's husband is a cosmetic dermatologist and together they worked out the best treatment for cosmetic use near the eye. Your situation may require more treatment after your functional concern is treated and you may need to see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon for such cosmetic treatment with Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin.

Q: If I have Botox injected in my upper lip for wrinkles in NYC, can I get new lines there?

A: Botox does not cause wrinkles around the lips. It can cause a droop though so this off-label procedure should be done by Botox expert injectors.

Q: Can NYC Botox smoothen the wrinkles of my cheeks?

A: Normally, Botox is not used in the cheek area because it can relax those muscles that allow us to smile and chew and give the appearance as if we had a stroke. This could last three to four months. Careful insertion for Crow's feet and lateral canthal areas along with the glabella of the forehead should not cause this undesired appearance because different, unnecessary muscle groups are involved.

Q: I have deep grooves in between the eyebrows. Will NYC Bootox help?

A: This is one of the best indications for Botox. It may provide up to four months of benefit.

Q: Is it possible to become allergic to Botox in NYC?

A: Yes. There are chemicals to which one can become sensitized after the body has been exposed to the agents. This might be some protein in the Botulinum toxin powder, or part of the liquid diluent which is used to dissolve the Botox powder. Allergic reactions to Botox, are, extremely rare and most physicians who have treated patients for close to twenty years or more, have not heard of patients who developed an allergy to Botox.

Q: I've never had Botox in NYC because I'm afraid of needles. Is the treatment very painful?

A: Most patients do not think so. I use very tiny needles and a very slow injection technique that makes it comfortable. Furthermore, we can apply a numbing cream in the office to minimize the sensation of the needle prick. As long as you don't look at the needle, you'll probably be quite fine.
