Fraxel Clear and Brilliant Laser
The majority of the skin’s aged appearance is a result of the sun exposure you’ve had when you were twenty years younger or more. The skin begins to lack luster, the coloration becomes splotchy, and “liver” spots show, fine lines develop and pores may become bigger. When people are concerned about their appearance and become interested in improving the photodamage, it is often too late to restore the type of skin they desire. Even with aggressive lasers, down time and risks of scarring, these ablative laser resurfacing treatments can not turn back the hands of time three decades. It is easier to stay ahead of the wrinkling and brown age spots by mildly resurfacing the skin. Fractional, non-ablative laser resurfacing with Fraxel Restore laser was begun in our NYC practice as one of the first three offices to perform this treatment. Fraxel Clear and Brilliant is more comfortable than Fraxel Restore, or Fraxel Repair. Its downtime is less and is designed to help smoothen the complexion of age spots and improve the texture to provide better brightness of the skin’s appearance. Pores may be appear smaller after Clear and Brilliant treatment but there is no guarantee of any result.
A series of laser treatments, often 5 to 6, are easily performed. Downtime is minimal. You can function in public after treatment but there is some fine bronzing and shedding. Makeup can be applied soon after treatment. This is because the microchannels that are created in the skin and induce new epidermal and superficial dermal changes, heal almost immediately. The sundamage then is allowed to heal internally. Clear and Brilliant is an excellent adjuct to the topical use of lightening creams, such as Revale, and Elure, and also the collagen producer TNS Essential Serum that has human fibroblast growth factors. Other topical that can produce better results through the assistance of skin rejuvenation by Clear and Brilliant, are anti-oxidants. Remember, the use of sunscreen is crucial to maintaining the improvement you will obtain from rejuvenation procedures.
