Q: I can't have surgery or liposuction but I want to rid myself of 40 lbs of weight gain. Can I do this with Zeltiq CoolSculpting?

A: The procedure alone won't do it. You must increase your exercise and decrease your dietary consumption of calories to maintain the new shape you will receive with Zeltiq. In addition, the treatment, even if you do a series of a few, will not allow you to lose so much volume. It is designed for those physically fit who have a focal bulge in an area.

Q: If I am scheduled to start intrauterine insemination next month, can I do CoolSculpting now?

A: Yes. There is no problem with doing Zeltiq now and IVF in one month.

Q: If I had Zeltiq's CoolSculpting three months ago, can I now do Liposuction to improve the areas more?

A: The result you get from CoolSculpting can improve after four months. Many people choose to undergo at least 3 treatments done every two months to get the most out of this non-invasive procedure for fat removal. If however, you choose to do liposuction, there is no problem doing it three months after CoolSculpting.

Q: I had CoolSculpting done a few days ago and I'm still sore. When will it go away?

A: Usually, sore skin after CoolSculpting can be present, although it feels better and better, for a few weeks. Gentle massage may help relieve the soreness.

Q: Why is Zeltiq better than lipo or Zerona?

A: In theory, CoolSculpting by Zeltiq is the only methodology that permanently kills the adiopocytes, the fat cells, whereas the other techniques cause the triglycerides to come out of the fat cells and that gets processed by the body. These shrunken fat cells having been affected by treatments other than CoolSculpting are still living possibly and may reaccumulate more fat at a later time.

Q: If I want to reduce the fat on my thighs but I don't have time to recover after liposuction, can I have CoolSculpting?

A: Zeltiq's CoolSculpting can lessen the mass of fat but it is only approved for certain areas. It may be that treatment of the thighs can be effectively accomplished by Zeltiq but the company has not specifically tested for this and the FDA has not given specific clearance for these areas.

Q: Can there be very bad pain in the tummy after CoolSculpting?

A: This is very rare, but skin sensitivity can occur after CoolSculpting. You may need to make sure there is no umbilical hernia if there is pain around the belly button.
