CoolSculpting/Zeltiqâ„¢™ - Related FAQ's
Q: I have read a lot about Zeltiq and really want the treatment. Is it safe to treat two areas at the same time.A: Yes it is safe and two treatment areas can be accomplished in the same visit but they have to be done right after each other as the machine can't do more than one area at the same time. In fact, the two love handles have to be treated separately as the Zeltiq does not have two arms , so one area is done and an hour later the other side is treated.
Q: If I had liposuction a year ago on my abdomen, can I now have Zeltiq, or must I have liposuction again.
A: CoolSculpting by Zeltiq is safe and although you may not see amazing results quickly, on average 20% reduction in volume over four months is quoted by the equipment's manufacturer. It definitely can be done right over areas that have had liposuction, but you might have a little bit more of its temporary bruising.
Q: I have a friend who had Zeltiq and saw very good results. I however, weight 30 pounds more than I should but I can't exercise because of bad arthritis. Can I try Zeltiq for my belly?
A: You would need an examination to determine if the fat is around the intestines behind the muscle wall, or accessible by being above the muscle wall. If you can't exercise and eat a better diet, then Zeltiq may be the only alternative to reduce rat other than liposuction.
Q: If I have Zeltiq now and reduce my fat, will I lose much weight on the scale?
A: Probably not. Fat is the least dense tissue in the body. You would have to lose a lot of fat to see the difference on the scale and with Zeltiq CoolSculpting you only lose about 20%, on average, of the fat in four months.
Q: I am scheduled to run a marathon in three months. Believe it or not, I have lovehandles! I don't want to run with my lovehandles, and I know I shouldn't have liposuction because the down time will interfere with my training. Can I have Zeltiq so close to my marathon?
A: Yes, you may be bruised for two weeks, rarely more, and you may be slightly tender, but there would be no reason you couldn't be so active after a few days to a week.
