Q: I read about Zeltiq, Zerona, Velashape, CoolSculpting and Thermage. Which would be best for me to reduce my lovehandles?

A: I have not conducted a clinical trial comparing these treatments, nor have read of such an experiment, but from what I know of the treatments, I would imagine a better result from Zeltiq and a longer term result than with Velashape. To be precise, let me state that CoolSculpting as you mention is not separate from Zeltiq but it is the treatment delivered from the Zeltiq device. On average, 20% volume reduction can occur with Zeltiq in four months. This means that some receive less, but many others have shown even better. Often it is a result that is felt in clothes more readily than seen.

Q: I want to have Zeltiq treatment on my love handles and my stomach the same day. Is this possible?

A: Depending on the areas needed to be treated on your tummy, the physician may have time to treat you. If there is a lower and upper abdomen that could take two hours and the love handles an additional two hours. Therefore your treatment will take a minimum of four and a half hours (additional time included to set up the different areas).

Q: My friend had Zeltiq done two weeks ago and sees no improvement. I wanted to have it but will this happen to me too?

A: Zeltiq is not an immediate result. The CoolSculpting freezes the fat cells which make them die. The body then metabolizes these cells over time and they start to recede. It is not a quick fix. In about four months, the average person see s 20% reduction in fat.
