Q: I want to have CoolSculpting for my lower belly and love handles. How much time will this take?A: The three areas can be treated at one visit. Each anatomic site will undergo CoolSculpting at one time. As the applicator is only designed to fit one area per treatment cycle, you have to wait for that area to finish before treating the next. There usually is about a ten to 15 minute rest period in between Zeltiq treatments to allow the technician to prepare the next site, and/or for the patient to utilize the rest room if needed. It could take 4 hours from start to finish (three hours treatment time, and the rest preparation time).
Q: Can CoolSculpting be done one day before I travel by air?
A: Yes, but remember that if you're going on a vacation and want to wear a bathing suit, there may be some bruising for up to two or more weeks.
Q: If I am overweight and have Zeltiq, will my skin just hang afterwards?
A: CoolSculpting with Zeltiq and liposuction are not treatments designed for obesity. If the skin has good tone, then the elasticity will help it retract after Zeltiq or liposuction. If the elasticity has been affected by age and distention, then the skin may be loose and hanging after the healing period of the procedure. You may need a skin abdominoplasty (surgical removal of the excess skin) to make the final result better, but you may be a better candidate for first reducing the fat with diet and exercise, possibly with the aid of a nutritionist and trainer, then consider abdominoplasty and liposuction at separate times for safety.
Q: Will I get a better result from Zeltiq's CoolSculptipng than Velashape for fat reduction?
A: Probably, Zeltiq gives you a better chance to reduce the volume of fat per area, than Velashape which is not known to kill the fat cells. Zeltiq's CoolSculpting does kill the adipocytes by freezing them. The body then digests these cells and in four months there is 20% average fat reduction by volume.
Q: When will I see improvement after Zeltiq if I do CoolSculpting on my abdomen?
A: Some patients only start to see improvement after four months, but the majority will see the volume shrinkage around three to four months. Some of my patients have noticed it even at one month.
