CoolSculpting/Zeltiqâ„¢™ - Related FAQ's

Q: I found out that my doctor will not be doing the CoolSculpting but his assistant will. Is this a problem?

A: In my NYC practice CoolSculpting by Zeltiq is performed under my supervision. No person can undergo the procedure without being seen by me in consultation. At that time I determine if the procedure is suitable for the patient and note which applicator should be used. The New York Aesthetic Consultants, LLP has been noted as a CoolSculpting Center of Excellence. We are certified by Zeltiq to have had extra training and taken extra effort to provide results of our treatments to prove the technique we utilize is excellent. Our assistants are trained and the procedure is performed to specifications and that both Zeltiq, and I as the physician, note to be the best for each individual patient. One does not need the physician to apply the applicator in order to get an excellent result.

Q: I had CoolSculpting and noticed definite reduction in my fat bulge in the lower tummy but I didn't see a difference on my scale. Why not?

A: Fat itself does not weigh much and the reduction in a small bulge may not show up on your scale.

Q: Can I go swimming the day after CoolSculpting?

A: Yes. There is no open wound, nor are you risking bleeding internally by exercising. You can do what feels comfortable for you the day after Zeltiq CoolScultping.

Q: After Zeltiq CoolSculpting, do I need to have a deep massage?

A: No, there is no benefit to having a massage after CoolSculpting that is proven scientifically. What is important is that the fat cells die as a result of the freezing. The frozen "bar of butter" that appears once the applicator is removed, thaws out and flattens out on its own. Massaging is not needed and we do not do this in our NYC practice when we do Zeltiq's CoolSculpting.
