Q: Is Zeltiq's CoolSculpting in NYC going to make me look too thin?
A: Most people who have Zeltiq have an ample deposit of fat that's not going away with diet and exercise. The CoolSculpting will decrease the volume of fat, on average, 20% after four months. This should not be enough fat reduction to make someone look too thin, unless they do so already.
Q: Can CoolSculpting from Zeltiq make me lose three dress sizes by next month?
A: No. It takes four months for the average result of 20% reduction in fat volume of the area treated to be improved. CoolSculpting is not a quick fix that can enable one to fit in that outfit you want for a social function in a week or two.
Q: Can CoolSculpting decrease my fat if I way 250 pounds?
A: If you are not very tall, then you would be considered obese and the CoolSculpting would not provide you with a generalized reduction in fat. Furthermore, there are no very large applicators that could fit over a very wide area. And to do site to site to site with CoolSculpting might leave an uneven contour.
Q: If I am 50 pounds overweight, can CoolSculpting by Zeltiq help me?
A: You won't benefit much from CoolSculpting if you are overweight. If you have only a small area that needs to be flattened, then Zeltiq can reduce some of the volume, but it does take a few months to see the improvement in some patients. Overweight patients are better served by increasing exercise, eating a more healthy diet, and possibly getting help from a nutritionist and trainer.
Q: Is CoolSculpting in NYC by Zeltiq only done on abdomens?
A: No. Love handles are another big area that undergo CoolSculpting by Zeltiq. Some doctors use it, depending on the fit of the patient, for upper arms, outer thighs, and inner thighs have been done.
Q: What is the most common side effect of CoolSculpting that might last more than a week?
A: Some focal sensitivity can occur in Zeltiq's CoolSculpting. In my NYC practice CoolSculpting has caused some bruising that usually is gone in two to three weeks maximum. Sensitivity is possible but has been temporary.
