Q: If I have Zeltiq tomorrow on my abdomen, can I fly the next week?A: There is no reason why you couldn't fly the next week. CoolSculpting freezes the fat but is a non-invasive procedure that results in fat reduction. You can work out as soon as you feel like it (but not that day) and flying / traveling is not an issue.
Q: I had liposuction done a year ago and I got great results. I haven't gained weight I just want to reduce my tummy a little more. Can I have Zeltiq?
A: Yes, CoolSculpting by Zeltiq can be done six months after liposuction. This should be approved by your surgeon. The Zeltiq is non invasive and freezes the residual fat. It might be considered a slight improvement over the liposuction, but it doesn't give you the same result as the surgery. About 20% of fat reduction in volume is seen four months after the Zeltiq.
Q: I have a pouch of fat on my lower tummy that won't go away no matter how many sit-ups I do. I don't over eat. I saw a surgeon and they said I can have liposuction but I don't have the time to recover with bruising as I am a busy model. Should I consider Zeltiq CoolSculpting?
A: Certainly, if you bruise after Zeltiq the bruising is much less usually than liposuction, but rarely, some patients could have extensive bruising even with Zeltiq. It could even take up to two weeks or more to go away, but the vast majority of patients only have a little bruising that lasts a week and a half or so.
Q: Can I do Zeltiq CoolSculpting on my abdomen if I had a C-section scar from 10 years ago?
A: Yes. Zeltiq can be done on top of scars and around scars. If however, the scar is very tender to the touch, it might hurt more during and after the Zeltiq. Patients who have hernias at prior surgical abdominal scars should not have Zeltiq.
Q: How long does CoolSculpting last?
A: Zeltiq invented CoolSculpting after scientists realized that popsicle necrosis permanently killed fat cells in some children in whom a popsicle sat in the mouth for a prolonged time. The fat atrophy never regained its normal volume. Freezing the fat in CoolSculpting can provide a long term fat reduction.
