CoolSculpting/Zeltiqâ„¢™ - Related FAQ's
Q: I want to have another child and will try in three months. I already have had three children without difficulty becoming pregnant. Should I avoid doing CoolSculpting now?A: No, there is no reason you would have to avoid Zeltiq's CoolSculpting if you are not pregnant now and will try to become pregnant in a few months after the treatment.
Q: I have had to be on a new diet recently and have lost a lot of weight. My stomach still has a pouch. Can CoolSculpting be done?
A: Yes. It sounds as if you are a very good candidate for CoolSculpting. Just remember to continue your diet after the CoolSculpting is done.
Q: If I take Benadryl, is that going to make me not be able to have CoolSculpting?
A: Not at all, you may certainly take your Benadryl as there is no negative effect on CoolSculpting by medication such as anti-histamines.
Q: If I get CoolSculpting, will I be in very bad pain?
A: Probably not, as most people find it hurts a little and feels weird for the first 5 to 10 minutes. Thereafter, the rest of the treatment doesn't hurt. In the healing period, very few people experience sharp stinging intermittent pain for up to a few weeks, but this goes away.
Q: If I have CoolSculpting done, what will happen if I gain weight in the future?
A: Just like after liposuction, if you gain weight, some will go back on the area treated because 80% of fat cells remain after one CoolSculpting procedure. Some of the fat can also be deposited in other areas that have fat cells.
Q: Why, if I have CoolSculpting, won't I get a sharply demarcated zone of depression?
A: The Zeltiq device freezes the fat centrally more than the adjoining surfaces but those are affected too, just less. In this way there is a gradual transition from the frozen fat in the CoolSculpting device and the non-treated neighborhood regions.
Q: I had an appendectomy twenty years ago. Can I have CoolSculpting on my abdomen?
A: You should make sure there is no evidence of an existing hernia from prior surgery, and as long as that is not the case, then there should be no reason to avoid having Zeltiq's CoolSculpting because of your prior appendectomy.
