CoolSculpting/Zeltiqâ„¢™ - Related FAQ's

Q: When I have CoolSculpting can I have half a session and pay half?

A: Unfortunately, the mechanism of killing fat cells was well studied and the settings are stated by the company as being optimal and less duration will not give you half an effect; it might not give you much at all.

Q: I need my inner and outer thighs reduced as they have more fat than I want but my exercise seems not to get rid of them. Is CoolSculpting good for this? Did Zeltiq make the machine for use on the thighs?

A: Zeltiq received FDA clearance initially for the abdomen and love handles but treatment on the thighs, both inner and outer, can be done as an off-label procedure by a doctor using the smaller currently available applicators.

Q: If I get CoolSculpting done, will I be able to get my six pack back?

A: With multiple treatments of CoolSculpting, significant fat loss can occur, but a six pack also requires significant muscle tone in the rectus abdominus muscles which usually occurs from sit ups.

Q: Can I have CoolSculpting done before I go on a ski trip in one week?

A: Yes. You might be very slightly sore to the touch and some clothing might feel uncomfortable, as the worst case scenario. You might be bruised for a couple of weeks, so if you were planning to go in a hot tub or other social activity you might feel self conscious if you were to develop a big bruise. Otherwise, there is no reason that you would have to avoid having the CoolSculpting done.

Q: I have to go on a five hour plane trip in two days. Can I have Zeltiq tomorrow?

A: CoolSculpting is not a reason to cancel your trip. You can undergo the procedure and fly the next day without issue. If you have a delayed bruise, that probably would have happened regardless of the plane trip.
