CoolSculpting/Zeltiqâ„¢™ - Related FAQ's
Q: I am traveling for four weeks abroad in two months. Is there a problem in having CoolSculpting now?A: Zeltiq's cryolipolysis kills fat cells by freezing them. This CoolSculpting has minimal side effects but there are very rare complications such as extreme soreness and sensitivity for a few weeks in rare individuals. This extremely rare development should not preclude you from departing.
Q: How good will CoolSculpting be for me on my tummy?
A: That question could not be answered until you have a consultation and physical examination. Some fat compartments are not treatable by CoolSculpting whereas other focal fat areas above the muscle can be treated well by Zeltiq.
Q: Is CoolSculpting by Zeltiq recommended for me if I'm only 17 years old?
A: If you have a healthy attitude about your body's shape, exercise and eat a healthy diet, then you may be a candidate, provided your parents agree.
Q: Will I gain all the fat back that I lose with CoolSculpting?
A: Zeltiq's CoolSculpting causes death of fat cells by freezing the fat. 20% of the fat cell volume may decrease after one treatment but a few treatments are often done on the same area, as frequently as every 4 to 6 weeks and the amount of fat that can be reduced, therefore, is even greater. The fat you had in excess prior to the Zeltiq was because you ate and drank more calories than you needed for your energy requirements of the body (both resting and exercise). If you don't change the calories coming in or exercise using up the calories, then you will still be consuming the same excess after the procedure. In that case, your body will have to put the fat somewhere and some of it may get stored in the same areas treated by CoolSculpting and some, if not most, may get stored in other areas.
