I have a big dimple in only one buttock that is rather high near the lower back and is seen above my bikini. Can fat injections help this?

Yes. Fat grafts or fat injections can augment volume. It may take several sessions to have the fat cells live in their new environment. Too much fat at one time would create a large volume of cells that require oxygen from diffusion of the adjacent tissue and the oxygen might not reach the center of the fat mass and those cells could die. So it is better to do it in small doses.

If I am going to have fat injections to my lips and cheeks how much time should I allow before going to an important function.

You should be prepared for several weeks of looking very swollen if the whole face, and muscle layer is injected. Otherwise if focal areas of the fat are treated without muscle, the normal healing is one to two weeks of possible bruising and swelling.

I had some filler injected overseas and now, eight months later it's lumpy. What can be done?

It depends if it is infected, too much volume, or if you've developed an immune granulomatous reaction. There are several products that are legitimately injected overseas, but there are others that are not, and many of the legitimate fillers overseas are not FDA approved in the United States. Some products are known as semi-permanent fillers. If a problem occurs, it will not be easy to remedy. Infection can take a long time to treat. Try to find out what the exact filler is and see a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to determine the best course of treatment.

I had fat grafts to my cheeks and love the result on one side. The other cheek is too big. It's been three years. What can I do?

There may be improvement with corticosteroid injections but it could be temporary and there are side effects of which you should be aware and this should be discussed with you prior to the treatment. Liposuction with a very narrow cannula may help plane down the elevation of the fat on the enlarged side but this could leave indents or an irregular surface. In addition there could be significant bruising for a few weeks.
