Facial Fillers NYC - Related FAQ's

20 years ago a doctor injected my lips and I have lumps for the last 10 years that don't go away. Some doctors tried to inject a steroid but it didn't help. One said it might have been silicone that I had injected. What can I do?

You may need to have the lumps excised surgically. Sometimes not all the filler can be removed without destroying good tissue and a debulking procedure might be the most practical. See a plastic surgeon or dermatologic surgeon in consultation to determine what the best route for you is.

If I am dissatisfied with a doctor placement of Sculptra and want it gone what can he do to make it better?

If it is a small area, sometimes injecting it with sterile saline may help but if it is a generalized over correction or over development of your own collagen response, you may have to wait the months or a year or more to see it go down. That is why it is important for the physician and you to talk about long term fillers and volumizers in detail prior to undergoing the treatment. Ask questions if you have any. Sculptra is usually done three times, four to six weeks apart and then the results can last about two years. If you only had one treatment it may come down quickly.

I had Restylane injected yesterday and now have some bruising today. What can I do to help get rid of the bruise faster?

We recommend Arnica by mouth and topical Auriderm, a stable vitamin K cream for bruising.

I had filler done between my eyebrows two days ago and am very swollen, what's wrong?

There may be a paradoxical overactive swelling from inflammation, or over correction, or too much water retention. See your doctor for evaluation. Some hyaluronidase may help dissolve excessive filler. Botox or Dysport should always be considered for these areas.
