Am I able to have liposuction and fat injections done at the same time?

You most certainly are able to undergo liposuction and the fat removed can be processes to be reinjected as fat injections.

I want to have fat injections in my face and my surgeon said I could do it when I have the SmartLipo. Is this correct?

I don’t consider SmartLipo to be wise as a harvesting technique for fat injections unless the liposuction is done to some small extent, just enough to obtain what is needed, prior to the laser component of SmartLipo being done which heats up the fat cells and destroys them.

Do I have to worry that my Fraxel laser will ruin the fat injections I had six months ago?

No, the Fraxel laser does not penetrate to the depth of where fat injections are placed. Fraxel laser is commonly done after fillers.

If I have fat injections done to correct the thinning of my cheeks, will they have to be repeated as often as Restylane?

Restylane may not be the best treatment for cheek augmentation. Perlane is a thicker replacement for Perlane and this or Juvederm Ultra Plus may last a year, or so. Fat injections are grafts. Some cells, but not all, will survive in their new host tissue. Fat injections are done in many different techniques, but I prefer to harvest fresh fat each time, centrifuge it to decant off the anesthetic, and inject it into the needed area. The second and third treatments, if needed, can be done after three months, or longer, in between sessions.

Can I have an electronic current facial after my filler?

As we don’t know the effect of microcurrent facials, it’s best to do the facial first and then the filler.

I had facial liposuction a while ago and at that time I didn’t like my fat face, but now I look older with sunken cheeks and drooping skin on the lower face. What can I do?

You may benefit by having volumization via Sculptra or fat injections. Radiesse can also help. The fat injections may give long term results as the cells act as a graft, but the sculptpra and Radiesse have to be repeated. Not all fat grafts live for a long time, though.
