What sets Fraxel™ apart from conventional ablative laser treatment?

What risks and side effects should I consider?

Fractional laser promotes quick healing through treating only small, targeted areas. The most frequently experienced side effects include redness and swelling in the treatment area. These fade over the first few days after the Fraxel™ procedure. Skin may appear slightly sunburned and bronze before dead skin cells fall off. The skin may feel flaky or powdery. This may be alleviated with moisturizer.

There is only a slight risk of scarring or infection with Fraxel™. Less common side effects include blistering and hyperpigmentation. The risk of these rare side effects is limited by following pre-treatment guidelines.

What does fractional laser treatment feel like?

Fraxel™ treatments may be only mildly uncomfortable, with most patients reporting full comfort with the use of topical anesthetic and air-cooling. Fractional laser energy tends to feel hot and prickly.

When will I see results?
