Restylane Treatments

If you feel dissatisfied with the appearance of aging skin, one of the wisest moves you can make is to schedule an appointment in the office of Board Certified dermatologist Dr. Ron Shelton.

Dr. Shelton has extensive experience in the use of dermal fillers like Restylane™ and, even more importantly, takes his patients aesthetic concerns seriously. The purpose of a dermal filler product is to “fill in” areas of skin that have been affected by volume loss. Fat and fluid loss in the skin can occur at a rate of up to a full teaspoon a year. The result of natural biological changes is the formation of lines and wrinkles as well as the loss of fullness and definition in facial contours.

Restylane™ is one of the most commonly used hyaluronic acid fillers used today. This non-animal based product has been approved by the FDA. It is effective for the treatment of lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth, adding volume to the lips, and decreasing under eye bags by treating troughs around the eyes. It may also be used to decrease the appearance of crow’s feet and lines on the forehead.

When injected into the skin, the hyaluronic acid beads in Restylane™ bind to water. Made with patented NASHA™ technology, the hyaluronic acid in Restylane™ lasts far more than the few days it would if produced by the body itself. This technology facilitates the long lasting effects that come from quick, painless treatments. The volumizing effect of Restylane™ will be fully noticeable after about a week, and will last for up to six months.

Patient comfort is a priority in our practice. Although Restylane™ treatments take only a few minutes to complete, topical or local anesthetic will be applied beforehand to reduce any discomfort of injections. Following treatment, there is no downtime for recovery. Minor swelling or redness where injections are given typically last only a short time.

Redefine your youthful image with Restylane™ from Dr. Ron Shelton. Call for your consultation today.
