Ultherapy™ - Related FAQ's

Q: I don't know what to do. My jowl on the left side is so much lower than the right. It's almost as if I need only half a face lift. What can I do?

A: Plastic surgeons do evaluate your condition before surgery and tailor your treatment to your specific condition and asymmetries, pulling more on the side that is hanging more. You could try, if your doctor evaluates your face and determines you're a candidate, Ultherapy. This focused intense ultrasound device is FDA-cleared for facial lifting. There is virtually no down time. It doesn't provide the same amount of lift as surgery but you can have the treatment several times over a few years with considerable improvement if your skin is of good quality and not suffering from sun damaged inelasticity.

Q: I had fat injections to my buttocks but they didn't help enough. What else can be done to give my tighter buttocks?

A: Sometimes fat injections need to be done several times as not all the fat lives in one session. Thermage radiofrequency may help tighten the skin as could, the off-label use of Ultherapy.

Q: I had Ultherapy six months ago and I have a wedding to attend in three months. Does it make sense for me to have it done again now, to improve somewhat further prior to the wedding?

A: Yes, you may get a better result from the second Ulthera compared to the result from the first, as the energy may be stimulating already growing collagen. The results may be seen sooner and the combined treatments might act synergistically although this has not been proven.

Q: Why should I do Ultherapy if it doesn't give me the lift a facelift would?

A: You may not be ready for a facelift, or be fearful of needles/ surgery, or not have the time to recover which can be two weeks or more for a facelift. Ulthera does not give downtime! It can be done despite many medical conditions that would preclude someone from having a facelift. If you're not yet a candidate for a facelift, Ultherapy is a great start in restoring one's facial youthful appearance.

Q: I had Ultherapy 8 months ago and see improvement but I want even more. I still don't want a facelift, what can be done?

A: Ulthera can be repeated six months to one year or more after treatment to build on your prior achievement. See your doctor for an evaluation.
