How To Stay Fit
If you want to get fit, there are two things you have to start doing right away. First of all, it is time to make some changes to your diet, if you have not done so already. If you really hate eating healthy foods, and your diet consists mainly of junk food, excessive fats or carbohydrates you just have to put your mind to making a change and eating the way that you really know you should.
It may take a while to get into the swing of things with a healthy diet, but after a while, it is going to get easier and easier to do. You have probably heard that it takes 21 days to create new habits, so you can start by committing to eating healthy today and stick to it one day at a time. If you do this for the next 21 days, it will become a little bit easier each day, until you reach a point where you can do so without really having to think about it.
In fact, there are so many healthy foods that are really delicious that you won’t even feel like you are focused on a healthy eating plan at all.
A good way to lose weight and stay fit is to not only eat healthy foods, but keep on enjoying some of the foods not on your healthy eating plan, only in moderation, once every week or two with much smaller portions than you would normally have. This will keep away your cravings and give you a chance to feel like you will always be able to eat whatever you want to at some point in time and help prevent the rebound overeating and yo yo type changes where the weight goes up and down and up and down.
Along with eating healthy foods, it is important that if you want to stay vigorous and fit that you be active. We all need to exercise every day, but a lot of us really hate to exercise. Thank goodness that there are loads of things we can do that keep us active, but don’t seem like exercise. No, you don’t have to go jogging or join a sports team. You can do all kinds of fun things. Play games like tag with your kids.
Go out and fly a kite. Take a walk through the woods. Go for a swim when the weather is good. If you have any activity you enjoy that involves movement, this is a great way for you to start getting into great shape, and staying that way for life.
Don’t forget to drink lots of water. This is something that can really keep you fit and vigorous. Water keeps you hydrated and flushes a lot of toxins from our system, and it keeps us hydrated. When we drink enough water, it helps to provide us with energy, and it helps us to lose weight, because it helps to fill us up without any fat or calories. You should try to drink at least eight 8 ounce glasses of water every day.
