" I am glad that I was granted the opportunity to praise this office. Being a person that never felt good about seeing a doctor, I wait with anticipation about seeing Dr. Seymour Weaver and staff. You guys make me feel comfortable and give me hope that my problem will be cured. Most of all, the staff relaxes me with their sweet smile, great sense of humor, and soothing conversation. If I have to complain about anything, it would be that I didn't discover you, your staff, and my treatments any sooner. Keep up the good work!!!!"

Houston TX dermatologists reveal dramatically improved skin with a chemical peel customized for you

Dr. W Dermatology offers chemical peels to suit every skin

Dr. W Dermatology offers chemical peels to suit every skin color, type, condition, and every lifestyle and budget. The many products and techniques used by the dermatology team are gentle. Few skin rejuvenation treatments are as customizable as a peel, which is really a way to speed up the natural process of cell turnover. Instead of living with dead or damaged skin cells that can cause discoloration or dryness, topical solutions remove such cells to reveal the new skin that promotes a fresh, youthful appearance.

Q: What makes the chemical peel so versatile?

The power of the peel comes from the many solutions that may be used. Further customization comes from the ability to alter the concentration of the active ingredients, which affects the potency of the peel. For instance, the potency of the AHA/Glycolic Acid or Trichloroacetic acid/TCA peels may be altered to treat moderate lines and discoloration, as well as more severe folds and pigmentation problems. Common ingredients in mild peels: lactic, resorcinol, or salicylic acids, when blended together, are known as a “Jessner’s peel.”

Q: How do you decide which peel is best for me, with so many to choose from?

Generally, lighter peels only affect the outermost layers of skin, while medium to deep peels penetrate the inner layers of skin. Lighter peel solutions may need many sessions to achieve optimal results, but they require no downtime and have few to no visible side effects such as redness and peeling. Deeper peels require fewer sessions to achieve dramatic results; however, they also require more days off work and time for healing, as redness and peeling can be significant.

A chemical peel in our office is even more versatile than what you may find at other dermatologists in Houston TX, thanks to the many options available at Dr. W Dermatology. For instance, you may be among the many consumers that prefer natural ingredients. You are in luck! As its name suggests, the grape wine peel uses natural extracts of white grape wine and fresh fruit pulp to gently exfoliate the outermost layer of skin.

The Melanage peel is another gentle option, which targets pigmentation problems such as sun spots and melasma patches. It is branded as a “lightening system” for this reason, and is a hybrid treatment, which includes some office preparation and at-home maintenance. The regimen is easy to follow and involves the application of several Melanage products from the comfort of your home. It is appropriate for many patients, including those with darker skin.

With so many different options available at one practice, there is sure to be a chemical peel for you. Schedule a consultation at one of Dr. W Dermatology’s convenient locations, in Houston and Katy. Call 281 771-0494.
