During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty Q & A

A blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure that removes excess tissue and fat from the eyelid area. This type of enhancement can often be performed during another surgery, such as a facelift.

With age, skin stretches and muscles weaken. While the face tends to lose volume, fatty deposits above the lashes and under the eyelids make this area puffy and droopy.

The blepharoplasty procedure at Noble Cosmetic Surgery is appropriate if you’d like to tighten up the skin around your eyes, improve the appearance of sagging or wrinkles, and have younger, more alert-looking eyes.

In addition to impacting your appearance, sagging skin around the eyes can impair vision. Peripheral (side) vision is most commonly affected. A blepharoplasty procedure makes your eyes look younger and reduces the risk of vision complications.

Dr. Obasi performs the blepharoplasty as an outpatient procedure. First, he ensures that you’re given an oral or IV sedative and that your eyelids are numbed.

Treating the upper area first, Dr. Obasi makes a precise incision along the fold of the eyelid. He removes excess skin and fat and tightens underlying muscles. The incision is closed with fine sutures.

If your lower lids need to be addressed, he makes an incision below the lashes or inside the lid. He removes or redistributes fat, and then repositions and tightens the skin before closing the incision.

You’re monitored closely after the procedure and sent home with post-operative instructions about cleaning and caring for your eyelids. Dr. Obasi might also prescribe eye drops or ointments that will speed the healing process.

After a few days, you’ll return to Dr. Obasi’s office to have the stitches removed. Most patients resume a normal routine in about ten days.

Like any other cosmetic surgery, eyelid surgery can pose potential risks. As a delicate area of the body, complications of a blepharoplasty might include:

  • Eye irritation or dryness
  • Bleeding
  • Infection
  • Scarring
  • Temporary blurred vision or, in rare cases, loss of eyesight

Dr. Obasi is always happy to discuss potential risks and whether or not you’re a good candidate for a blepharoplasty procedure. Get the look you’ve always wanted: Book an appointment with Dr. Obasi by phone or online today.
