During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Botox

When sunblock and anti-aging creams aren’t enough to reduce your wrinkles, maybe you’re ready to explore more powerful cosmetic treatments. Botox® may technically be considered a form of plastic surgery, but because it’s a noninvasive service, Botox injections are a popular alternative for countless women and men. If you live or work in the Plano, Texas region, call Noble Cosmetic Surgery or book an appointment online with Dr. Patrick Obasi to learn more about Botox cosmetic surgery.

Botox Q & A

Botox injections are the nonsurgical delivery of the botulinum toxin, a bacteria-extracted neurotoxin proven effective in relaxing the nerves in muscle tissue — frequently used to diminish wrinkles in your skin.

Injected with a needle under the skin of your face or other trouble spots, Botox’s purified type A toxin temporarily paralyzes the specific muscles contracting under your aging skin that cause surface wrinkling. Botox therapy is a simple procedure designed to target only the areas that need it. This helps ensure the rest of your muscles retain their mobility and your smile is still expressive.

Botox treatments don’t leave scars, require little downtime, and effectively smooth your skin in a variety of areas:

  • Wrinkles around your eyes’ outer corners (crow’s feet)
  • Creases in your forehead
  • Frown lines
  • Lip lines
  • Deep chin dimples
  • Smiles showing too much of your upper gums
  • Thick neck bands
  • Nasal bridge wrinkles (bunny lines)

Because Botox treatments don’t require anesthesia, it’s clear this noninvasive procedure doesn’t cause much discomfort and doesn’t compare to other forms of plastic surgeries. The needle used is also thin, which helps reduce any pain felt during sessions. But Dr. Obasi is always willing to offer topical numbing medication in form of cream to the patients that need it before injections.

Recovery is quick, but you may experience some temporary side effects:

  • Light pain or bruising at the injection site
  • Redness
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Drooping or weakness (especially from rubbing the injection site)
  • Less common, more significant side effects similar to botulism

Each Botox treatment takes just 15 minutes, but the results last much longer and the number of injections you need varies by the location and severity of your wrinkles. Many men and women notice visible wrinkle reduction within a few days before seeing the full effect about a week later.

You enjoy two or three months of diminished or eliminated wrinkles, then gradually the signs of your crow’s feet, lip lines, gummy smile, neck creases, or other treated aging skin return to their original state. Visit Dr. Obasi a few times a year for Botox injection therapy to maintain your youthful, smoother skin.

If you feel it’s finally time to reduce your wrinkles for months at a time and look more like the age you feel, then call Noble Cosmetic Surgery or book an appointment online with Dr. Patrick Obasi to see if Botox is right for you.
