During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Breast Reduction

Did you know that a pair of D-size breasts can weigh up to 23 pounds? While large breasts are often a coveted beauty ideal, they can be a painful reality if you have a naturally large chest. At Noble Cosmetic Surgery in Plano, Texas, Dr. Patrick Obasi performs breast reduction surgery for women who want to relieve the aches, pains, and discomfort caused by heavy breasts. Breast Reduction Q & A

Depending on the size, shape, and density of your breasts and breast tissue, Dr. Obasi may recommend different techniques to reduce the size of your breasts while maintaining their shape and position on your body.

With liposuction, he can loosen and extract excess fat from the breast and underarm area. This technique may be a good choice if you have more fatty breast tissue and you don’t want a significant reduction in size. This method is often a good fit for postmenopausal women.

Breast reduction surgery, in contrast, is a more complicated procedure. However, it allows for better flexibility in shaping breasts. Dr. Obasi can:

  • Reduce your breast size: Remove fat, fibrous tissue, glandular tissue, and excess skin
  • Reposition your nipples: Downward-facing nipples can be repositioned or lifted
  • Resize your areoles: Reduce the circumference of pigmented skin around nipples
  • Lift your breasts: Creates a perkier, more youthful silhouette

As with any cosmetic procedure, it’s important to have realistic expectations. Your breast reduction surgery will be tailored to give you natural-looking, proportionate results.

Following your procedure, you may have bandages on the incisions and an elastic bandage around your breasts to minimize swelling and to support your breasts as they heal. A drain may be placed under the skin to collect excess fluid.

You’ll be recovering for several weeks and may need to minimize exercise and other strenuous activities until you’re fully healed.

Dr. Obasi uses a suturing technique that leaves minimal scarring, which fades over time. The incision pattern he recommends is determined by breast size, droop, and the nipple-areola position. The following types of scars might be present after your surgery:

  • Micro-incisions, which are used in liposuction and close without stitches.
  • Donut incisions, which circle the areolas and are often disguised by pigmentation.
  • Lollipop or keyhole incisions, which wrap around the areolas and down to the ribcage
  • Anchor incisions, three cuts around the areola, across the breast, and across the breast

Scarring is a normal part of breast reduction surgery, but most scars fade over time. With a proper skincare routine, you help speed the recovery process and enjoy your new, lighter breasts.
