During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Desoto Residents Want to Know How PRP Therapy Can Rejuvenate Their Skin

Platelet rich plasma therapy, or PRP, has been used in the medical field for years. It is an effective part of wound care, cardiac surgery, orthopedics, and more. PRP therapy is now being used in the cosmetic surgery field. Dr. Patrick Obasi of Noble Cosmetic Surgery treats patients in the Desoto and Plano, TX areas. Dr. Obasi uses PRP therapy as an option for skin rejuvenation.

PRP therapy can rejuvenate the skin

PRP therapy is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes plasma from the patient’s own blood. Your blood contains platelets that repair damage within the body. These platelets have growth factors to stimulate collagen production as well as the healing of soft tissues.

HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?

A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient. The tube of blood is placed into a centrifuge and spun down so that it separates. Red and white blood cells divide from platelets and plasma. The plasma is a clear fluid that now contains a higher number of platelets, making it platelet rich. Once PRP has been created, it can be reintroduced into the patient. PRP is injected into specifically targeted areas of the skin using a microneedling technique.

ADVANTAGES OF PRP THERAPY

By using the patient’s own blood for the procedure, there is less chance of an allergic reaction or adverse side effects. The procedure is quick, relatively painless, and does not require post care. PRP therapy has become a total facial rejuvenation rather than treatment for a single problem. As a skin rejuvenating procedure, PRP therapy can address the following:

  • Skin tone and texture
  • Acne scarring
  • Loose skin
  • Lines and wrinkles
