During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Dr. Patrick Obasi of Noble Cosmetic Surgery in Plano, TX is a plastic surgeon pleased to provide a wide selection of services for patients in the community. In addition to traditional facelifts and liposuction, he is proud to offer a combination of treatments that make up the “mommy makeover.” This popular selection of services provides women with a safe and effective way of taking back their body after pregnancy.

Everything You Need to Know About a Mommy Makeover in Plano, TX area

Everything you need to know about a mommy makeover can be learned by speaking with our doctor at Noble Cosmetic Surgery.

First and foremost, what is a mommy makeover?

A mommy makeover is a unique combination of procedures that are performed by a plastic surgeon to help address several areas of the body at once. The mommy makeover typically includes surgeries such as:

During pregnancy, the body goes through many changes that can dramatically—and permanently—change a woman’s body. The skin may become more relaxed, the breasts may sag or look deflated, and the tummy area may be stretched and loose from pregnancy.

The entire process of the mommy makeover tackles all these common problem areas at once, reducing the recovery time needed for separate surgeries.

Who is a candidate for a mommy makeover?

The best candidates for mommy makeovers are adult women who are finished having babies and are ready to take charge of their body. Most of the areas that are treated with these procedures cannot be improved with diet and exercise alone. Surgical intervention is sometimes the only way to address the changes to the body that occur over time. Building self-confidence is the primary reason why women choose to undergo these procedures, to once again feel confident in their skin. The best candidates are also those who are at a healthy weight, are in good overall health, and who have the budget for the procedure. Health insurance plans do not cover the mommy makeover as the changes made are cosmetic and not medically necessary.

What should I expect during recovery?

Because several procedures are done at once, the recovery time is crucial to protect the body from infection and ensure everything heals properly. For women who have small children in the house who require care, childcare duties should be handled by another adult in the home. This is because patients should not lift more than 25 pounds for several weeks. For the first few weeks, exercise and movements will need to be minimal. Many women are on bed rest for the first week or two, depending on how many procedures are performed. Women may need help moving around, using the bathroom, and preparing food. Women often enlist the help of their spouse or another adult in the home during the recovery time to manage household duties. Women should make sure they attend their follow-up appointment with their doctor to monitor the healing process and look for signs of infection. Infection and other problems may delay recovery and require additional medications to address.

What can I expect from a mommy makeover?

What can I expect from a mommy makeover in Plano, TX area

A mommy makeover can include many procedures which may leave behind scarring. Patients must consult with Dr. Patrick Obasi well before considering the procedure to ensure they have realistic expectations of what can be achieved with these surgeries. During the consultation visit, women can request to see photos of before and after procedure previously done at Noble Cosmetic Surgery to get a generalized idea of what to expect. Women can work with their doctor to decide the final size of their breasts through implant selection and to learn about how much fat and skin need to be removed for a successful tummy tuck.
