During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Fillers

Fillers Q & A

There are two categories of fillers that Dr. Obasi might use on your skin:

Neuromodulators

Each time you squint, frown, or purse your lips, underlying muscles pull skin into folds. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are formulations of purified protein called neuromodulators. They’re injected at precise points just beneath the skin to interrupt muscle contractions, allowing wrinkles to soften. Neuromodulators are ideal for “elevens” between the eyes, horizontal forehead furrows, crow’s feet, and smoker’s lip lines.

Dermal fillers

These products add volume to fill hollows, reduce wrinkles, plump lips, and lift facial features. There are four types:

  • Hyaluronic acid: Brand names like Juvéderm and Restylane add immediate volume and plumpness
  • Poly-L-lactic acid: Stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen for firmer, smoother skin over the course of several treatments
  • CaHA microspheres: These tiny “beads” of biocompatible calcium help to transform dull and aging skin
  • PMMA: A collagen-based filler that improves the look of mouth-to-chin wrinkles and depressed acne scars

Results from a filler treatment usually last several months to a few years, depending on the type of procedure you get. The good news is that results are usually apparent immediately. You can maintain your results by practicing good skincare habits and a healthy diet. Dr. Obasi lets you know how to care for your skin properly after a filler or injection appointment.

Any cosmetic procedure comes with risks, but most fillers are safe and effective when administered correctly. While Dr. Obasi is an expert in this practice, you might experience complications after a filler procedure, which could include:

  • Skin eruptions or acne
  • Infection
  • Scarring or damage to the skin at the injection site
  • Rash or irritation
  • Redness
  • Bruising or bleeding
  • Facial swelling

Be sure to express any concerns you have with Dr. Obasi during your initial consultation. He’ll be happy to recommend a treatment plan that includes the best fillers for your skin type and goals.
