During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Submental Liposuction

The “triangle of youth” describes a beauty ideal most people want: A face that’s wider at the cheeks and narrow in the chin. At Noble Cosmetic Surgery, submental liposuction is a popular treatment that removes sagging skin and fat to create a more defined, triangular face. Dr. Patrick Obasi helps patients in Plano, Texas, defy the aging process and restore a more youthful appearance.

Submental Liposuction

Submental Liposuction Q & A

As you age, fatty deposits, lax skin, and sagging tissue can cause the face to look square. A double chin develops, and the jawline loses distinction. Submental liposuction can address all of these issues, as it removes fat beneath the chin, slims the neck, and sculpts the entire jawline.

Submental liposuction may be a good option if you aren’t ready for a more invasive surgical procedure, such as a facelift. It’s beneficial if you have a double chin or a bottom-heavy face.

Submental liposuction is performed as an outpatient procedure in Dr. Obasi’s office. The procedure requires local anesthetic only, with IV sedation as an option. Surgery usually takes an hour or less.

First, Dr. Obasi marks the area or areas to be treated. Then he makes a small incision, or a series of incisions, depending on your goals and where you’re having fat removed. The area is infiltrated with a tumescent solution, which helps to anesthetize the area and reduce swelling. You may sit for a few minutes while the solution takes effect.

Next, Dr. Obasi opens the skin where the incisions have been made and inserts a cannula, or small tube, to loosen the fat and suction it out of the body. He is careful to remove the fat in a way that sculpts your face to the desired shape. When he’s finished, he might apply sutures, but they usually aren’t necessary.

Your wounds will close quickly on their own, but Dr.Obasi might advise you to wear a compression bandage for the first week after surgery. Most patients can expect some bruising, but you’ll return to your normal activities within about two weeks.

You may have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Obasi to make sure you’re healing properly and that you achieved the results you wanted.

Since the adult body doesn’t produce new fat cells, fat that’s removed is gone forever. You can expect lasting results with submental liposuction. Most patients report incredible results and enjoy a more contoured, youthful face.
