During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Plastic surgeon in Plano, TX describes what you need to know about breast augmentation

At Noble Cosmetic Surgery, patients in Plano, TX have several options available to them for enhancing their body. With so many treatment options, patients are excited to make the changes they’ve desired with cosmetic surgery. Our plastic surgeon can explain what you need to know about breast augmentation to prepare you for your upcoming procedure.

What You Need to Know about Breast Augmentation in Plano area

What is breast augmentation?

Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammoplasty, is a procedure performed by a plastic surgeon to increase the size of the breast, the shape of the breast, or the fullness of the breast. This is done with the insertion of breast implants. Breast implants may be made from silicone or saline.

Why should I consider breast augmentation?

There are many reasons why a patient might consider undergoing breast augmentation surgery. They may want to:

  • Increase the size of the breasts that may be naturally smaller
  • Restore the shape and size of the breasts after weight loss, breastfeeding, or pregnancy
  • Restore symmetry to the breasts
  • Reconstruct the breasts after surgery or cancer

Who is a candidate for breast augmentation?

The best candidate is a woman who is ready to improve the appearance and size of their breasts. They should be in overall good health and within their ideal weight range. Many women who consider breast augmentation are in their 30’s and may have already had children.

Can breast augmentation be combined with other procedures?

Dr. Patrick C. Obasi is pleased to provide a wide selection of plastic surgery procedures, and in many cases, can perform more than one treatment at once. When considering breast augmentation, many women also discuss other treatments they should undergo to improve other areas of the body. Known as a “mommy makeover,” many women may consider the benefits of combining treatments, including:

The primary benefit of undergoing several procedures at once is the ability to reduce recovery time. Instead of having to take time off work for each separate surgery, patients can book recovery time just once while several areas of the body are improved during a single procedure. We encourage women to ask about combining procedures if they are interested in addressing various areas of the body.

How do I choose the size of my new implants?

Choosing implants can be the toughest part of the process. Many women are unsure as to what size would be most complementary to their body’s shape and contours. Others are afraid of increasing their cup size too much to where the results do not look natural. During the consultation appointment, Dr. Patrick C. Obasi will work with patients to help them identify the implant best for their breast augmentation procedure. Women are advised to describe the expectations they have for the treatment, while the doctor assists in choosing the implant size best suited to reach that goal.

What if I like my breast size, but my breasts are sagging?

What if I like my breast size, but my breasts are sagging in Plano area

Women in Plano, TX with sagging breasts, called ptosis, can still undergo breast augmentation procedures. Depending on the amount of sagging, patients may incorporate augmentation along with a breast lift. This is determined based on the positioning of the nipples and areola. An implant can still be placed at the same time as a lift to bring the breasts higher up and make them look more natural and fuller. This type of augmentation may also include the removal of excess skin to ensure the breasts are placed appropriately on the chest.

What should I expect during recovery?

The recovery from breast augmentation can take several weeks. It is best that patients carefully follow the post-operative care instructions given by Dr. Patrick C. Obasi to reduce the risk of complications during the recovery period. Women should expect to take time off school, work, and other activities for several weeks to ensure proper healing and recovery.
