During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & his staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

Plano, TX professional explains why you should try chemical peels treatment to improve the skin

Plano and Desoto, TX men and women interested in treatments to enhance and improve the skin are welcome to schedule a visit with Dr. Patrick Obasi of Noble Cosmetic Surgery to learn more about chemical peels. Our team can educate you on why you should try these treatments and what they can achieve.

Why You Should Try Chemical Peels Treatment in Plano TX area

What is a chemical peel?

Also known as a “chemexfoliation” or a “chemabrasion” treatment, chemical peels can help address a wide range of problems with just one session. Using a combination of chemicals applied to the skin, patients experience extreme exfoliation. Dead skin cells are removed, and newer, fresher skin from underneath will shine through. Patients who undergo chemical peels often enjoy the smoother, youthful, glowing skin that follows the exfoliation process.

What type of chemicals are used for chemical peels?

There is a wide selection of chemicals that dermatologists have been using for skin rejuvenation. Some are more aggressive than others, which means patients may experience significant social downtime as their skin heals. Others are superficial and provide more gradual, subtle results. Choosing the chemical combination right for you is achieved during a consultation visit with Dr. Patrick Obasi. Below are some of the chemicals commonly used in chemical peels:

  • Retinoid acid
  • Carbolic acid (pheno)
  • Glycolic acid
  • Trichloroacetic acid
  • Alpha hydroxy acid

During a consultation visit with Dr. Patrick Obasi, patients can speak to their doctor about what they would like to achieve with their chemical peel. Patients who want dramatic results may ask for the more aggressive peels, such as the TCA peel, while some may want subtle improvements with milder solutions such as alpha hydroxy acid peels. Patients should also speak to our professionals about the imperfections of the skin they would like to improve. Chemical peels can be used to enhance the skin and treat conditions such as:

  • Freckles
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Acne
  • Acne scarring
  • Age/liver spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Surgical/trauma scarring
  • Irregular skin pigmentation

Chemical peels offer patients solutions for many imperfections of the skin, more than just texture and tone.

Why should I try chemical peels?

Chemical peels are a practical, affordable, and reliable option for patients who want to improve their skin and address a variety of issues at once. Below are just a few of the benefits of chemical peels for patients to consider:

  • Affordability
  • Effectiveness
  • Reliable results

What should I expect during my chemical peel?

After patients have had a consultation with Dr. Patrick Obasi and have chosen the chemical peel they desire, they sit in the treatment chair. The face is cleansed thoroughly to remove cosmetics and any oils that may be present on the skin. The unique blend of chemicals is then applied to the face and down underneath the chin for full coverage. Depending on the chemical peel chosen, it may remain on the skin for the remainder of the day or maybe removed after a few minutes. Because chemical peels are quickly performed in our practice, many patients do not have to take time off work or other activities to get into our office for treatment. Patients who choose mild peels typically return to their day without interruption. Those who decided on a medium or deep chemical peel may be put under with intravenous sedation and have their treatment done in the operating room.

What other options are available to me?

Enhancing the skin’s texture and tone is simple with chemical peels. However, it is not the only option available at Noble Cosmetic Surgery. Our team will educate patients on the advantages of other solutions as well, so they can make a knowledgeable decision regarding the treatment they prefer. In most cases, patients often consider chemical peels alongside dermabrasion. Dermabrasion is another method of enhancing the appearance of the skin. It permanently removes the upper layer of the skin to buff them away and reveal fresher skin from below. Not only can it be used as a treatment alternative, but many patients combine the two for the most beautiful transformation!
