Fotona LAHA Masters of Dental Laser Training program

On the 12th of July my assistant Apple Wong and I were invited to demonstrate at the Fotona LAHA Masters of Dental Laser program in Melbourne.  I am passionate about using Lasers in Dentistry and have been treating patients using Dental Lasers for more than 10 years, so I was thrilled to be able to share my knowledge. More recently, we have been using the Fotona Lightwalker Laser for the repair of teeth with excellent results.

The benefits to the patient when using the Dental Laser are;

• No pain in most cases
• No local anaesthetic
• They can eat straight away after the filling is done
• Stronger bond of filling material to the natural teeth (less likely to fall out)
• The restoration is more natural looking as the filling margins blend better into the tooth.
• Less time in the dental chair

So, Sargon Bahko pictured above, bravely volunteered to come into the course as a demonstration patient and had five fillings done with no local anaesthetic.  The dentists, who attended the course, were able to watch the live procedure on the adjacent lecture room video screens. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to share my expertise using the Fotona Dental Laser with other Dentists who were new to Dental Lasers.

I am also completing the LAHA Masters of Dental Laser Training and will complete the Facial Aesthetics, Nightlase and laser gum disease modules in November this year.  I plan to graduate in Slovenia in May 2019.
