Harpreet, PDA (Preventive Dental Assistant)

Harpreet completed Dental Assisting Level 1 training with the National Academy of Health and Business, and graduated in 2004. She is a valuable member of the R Dentists team, and has a wonderful rapport with Dr. Ratra. Many people have commented that they seem to have a telepathic connection. Her favorite aspects of her job are the opportunities to meet new people, and the teamwork oriented nature of our office.

When not working, Harpreet enjoys spending time with her family, reading, shopping, and watching movies.

Harpreet’s mantra is, “Accept people for who they are.”

Vandana

Vandana is the proud wife, mother, and daughter-in-law to three generations of Dr. Ratras. Currently, she works at R Dentists behind the scenes overseeing accounts. Formerly, she worked as an interior designer. In fact, her first role at this office was designing it! You will notice that the layout is uniquely efficient, and incorporates aspects that improve sanitation. Vandana is responsible for those features.

Dedicated and hard working, Vandana is known to her family as “supermom.” Dr. Ratra is extremely grateful to have her managing and organizing his clinic. She is a wonderful multi-tasker, and beloved by our patients.

When not working, Vandana enjoys traveling, swimming, watching movies, and trying new cuisines.

Jeanette (Dental Hygienist)

Jeanette has been in the dental field for over 25 years. Her roles have included, clinical manager, treatment coordinator, hygiene coordinator and dentist in India.
Jeanette always has a positive can do attitude and loves to educate her patients on oral health and general dental education.

In her free time Jeanette enjoys home décor, home renovations, and spending time with her family.

Languages spoken are Portuguese, Kokani, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Urdu, Gujrati, and Punjabi

Karen (Office Manager)

Karen has always had a passion for dentistry. She has been in the dental field for over 20 yrs and has experience in both clinical as a dental assistant and administrative as a patient coordinator, treatment coordinator and Dental Manager. Her love of helping people and her knowledge of complicated dental procedures lead her to exceling in her roles.

Karen loves that she gets to discuss dentistry and options with patients and help them achieve the smile of their dreams. Karen is always at the front to warmly greet patients with a smile and ready to help attitude, thus creating a warm relaxed environment for all. She strongly believes in delivering high quality dentistry and providing a great patient experience.

In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors and nature, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Ria (Hygiene Coordinator)

Ria has worked in the dental field for over 12 years as a Hygiene Coordinator and Patient Coordinator. With her years of experience, she brings a thorough understanding of dental office administration. As a member of the R Dentists team, she wants all patients to feel welcome and strives to help make each visit a stress free one. Ria will be one of the pleasant voices you hear when booking appointments or calling in with general inquiries. In her free time Ria enjoys travelling, learning French and spending time with her family.

Vish (Certified Dental Assistant)

Vish has worked in the dental field for 3 years. He is passionate about customer service and making each appointment a great experience.

In his free time, Vish enjoys singing, classical music and current world events. Vish loves to travel and be with his family and friends.

Vish’s passion towards dentistry has lead him to extend his studies to dentistry and currently working on his license to become a dentist.

Dr. Jonathan, Anaesthesiologist

Dr. Lok is an important part of our team, although he is not in the office full time. He is a trained anaesthesiologist, who comes in by arrangement to administer sedation and general anesthesia.

Dr. Lok attended University of Toronto, where he earned his dental degree. He then went to Brooklyn, New York, where completed a one-year general practice residency with Lutheran Medical Center. Then, he completed a two-year dental anesthesia training program at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

One of a few select dentists to hold these credentials, Dr. Lok continues improving his clinical skills and education so that he can provide the most up to date and safest care possible. He spends part of his time sharing his expertise, as a clinical instructor for University of Toronto’s graduate dental anaesthesia program.
