Preparation

If all visible teeth are treated with veneers, you can choose any shade of white you like. However, if just one, or a select few, teeth are being treated, you will want your veneers to match your tooth enamel. Therefore, teeth whitening is often the first preparatory step.

A small amount of tooth enamel may be removed to accommodate the veneer's thickness. This keeps it looking and feeling natural. Because veneers are so thin, the amount is small. After all preparation is complete, we will place provisional veneers if needed. Your permanent veneers are made in a top-quality dental laboratory, which usually takes two or three weeks.

Bonding

The final step comes when we receive your brand new veneers from the laboratory. When you return to our office, your dentist will remove the provisional veneers, and place the new ones with a temporary paste. You and the doctor can review the fit and appearance, to ensure that your new smile is just right. The temporary paste is then removed, and the veneers are permanently bonded in place.
