Fraxel™ - Related FAQ's
Q: I am having Ultherapy in one week on my face and neck but my friend just had Fraxel Can I have both treatments on the same day?A: Yes you can, but the risks might be slightly greater depending on how many lines of treatment you have with Ultherapy and if the 1.5mm. superficial transducer is used. That is because there might be small welts from the superficial ultherapy and the Fraxel laser induces swelling too. The combination may make your face much more swollen than if you only had Fraxel. It might be prudent to separate the Ultherapy and Fraxel by at least one day if you need to minimize the extent of downtime. Normally Ultherapy has no downtime and Fraxel Restore has minimal downtime, but by combining Ultherapy and Fraxel, you may end up avoiding certain social functions for several days.
Q: I have bad acne scarring and have scheduled laser resurfacing but read I might get more acne after the laser. Is this true?
A: If you do, the acne you would get should be temporary and may take some weeks to get better with topical products.
Q: I get many herpes flare ups around my mouth but I want to have Fraxel laser for my lip creases. Can I?
A: Yes, but your doctor will probably prescribe a medication to minimize the chance of you having a fever blister during the convalescence of your Fraxel Dual, Fraxel Restore or Fraxel Repair laser resurfacing.
Q: I am having a blepharoplasty eyelid skin tightening surgery. Can I also have Fraxel laser for the skin surface?
A: The laser can be done before, or after the blepharoplasty. Some plastic surgeons have done the surgery and even carbon dioxide laser at the same time but the risks are greater.
