Restylane™ - Related FAQ's
Q: Can I have a facial the day after my Juvederm?A: Yes, facials should not upset the filler one day after the injections. Ulthera is currently avoided for a few months after fillers but can be done the same day as the fillers provided the Ulthera is done immediately before the fillers.
Q: If I had Restylane injected in my lip two years ago and still have a bump there, can this be the filler?
A: At two years most if not all of the Restylane should be dissolved. There are very rare reasons for lumps to persist or develop this long after you've received Restylane. Granulomas are theoretical but not often noted. If hyaluronidase injections don't dissolve the lump, then maybe a small surgical removal can be done without leaving a noticeable scar.
Q: If I stop my aspirin before the Restylane injections, when can I resume them?
A: As early as the next day you can resume the blood thinners including aspirin after the Botox, Restylane or Juvederm injections. There would be no reason to expect a risk of a bruise the day after so you can use the Aspirin the next day. If you do get a delayed bruise, this would have happened regardless of resuming the aspirin.
Q: I hate my lower eyelids. I wake up and they're so swollen, maybe a little less in the day, and less again at night but they make me look old and not healthy. What can I do? Should my NYC dermatologist inject Juvederm in the tear troughs?
A: You might need to see an allergist to determine if you have sinus problems or allergies. If there is not a collection fluid, but rather fat pads, you wouldn't be expected to have such volume variation in the lower eyelids. Fat pads can be surgical removed and some patients who don't want surgery can have Restylane injected in the tear trough to smoothen the contour of the double bubble seen on profile, but swelling has a different treatment, and usually, hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm are avoided because of the possible increase on the swelling effect they cause. Both Restylane and Juvederm bind your water in the dermis and this is what gives them the volume to support the tissue they're lifting. If you already have swelling, then this can be made worse by the fillers.
