What is Restylane™ and Perlane™ made of?
Restylane™, Perlane™ and Juvederm™ - Each of these fillers works by plumping the layer of skin below the surface, called the dermis. Through carefully placed injections made with a small gauge needle, these dermal fillers add volume to the dermis, which subsequently raises the top layer of skin, the epidermis. Excellent for the correction of deeper lines and creases, scars from acne, or other cosmetic concerns, dermal fillers may produce a more pronounced effect during the first 24 hours following treatment, after which time, a small portion of the filler will absorb into the body and beautifully natural results present.Restylane™, Perlane™ and Juvederm™ work by creating a filler substance, which is formed by volumizing the dermis beneath the epidermis. Therefore, whether it is a loose acne scar, smile crease or a deep wrinkle, the filler is inserted below with a tiny needle which helps to raise the epidermis. A slightly greater effect of this augmentation can be seen within the first 24 hours and some of the body's water is bound to the filler molecule. The fillers can last for a time period of six to 12 months. This time period changes from one patient to another and normally depends on the anatomical site. If the lipid cell is injected in the vermillion border or vermillion lip, then it might dissolve slightly faster. This is because of the amount of speaking, eating and all other motions the mouth undergoes every day. The advantage of these fillers is that the patient receives immediate results.
One of the main benefits of Restylane™ and Perlane™ is that the overall procedure can be completed very quickly. The dermatologist can give the patient a look that is years younger, in the time that it takes an average person to shower. In most dermatological offices, patients decide on undergoing the Restylane™ and Perlane™ injection mostly during their lunch break and return to work soon after the procedure with a younger and brand new look.
