How do Restylane™ and Perlane™ work?

The hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers, Restylane™ and Perlane™, as well as Juvederm™ work on a patient through the creation of a filler substance which volumizes the dermis layer of the skin, located just beneath the epidermis. In so doing, the patient may see the correction of deep wrinkles or creases, acne scarring, and experience better facial contours. There's a slightly greater augmentation of this effect within the first 24 hours following the treatment since some of the body's water is bound to the filler molecule.

The achieved result from a dermal filler usually lasts anywhere between six and 12 months. In some patients, the results can last longer, while in others it can last less. It's important to note that the visible duration of the achieved results depends on the anatomical site where the filler was injected.

If the lipid cell is injected in the vermillion border or vermillion lip, then it may dissolve slightly faster because of the amount of speaking and eating, and all the other motions that a lip goes through each day.

One of the attractive elements of these dermal fillers is that an immediate effect can be achieved. As soon as a patient leaves the doctor's office, he or she can see the results immediately.

Dermal fillers such as Restylane™, Perlane™ and Juvederm™, which plump up the volume of the skin in patients, help to achieve better facial contours and reduce wrinkles and lines. Through the injection of these fillers, patients are given the chance to combat the undesirable effects and telltale signs of aging. Through the intervention of the dermal fillers, the creases in a patient's face are erased and the overall look of the patient is turned into a youthful one. As a result, patients are given the chance to live a life of happiness and increased confidence.
