Laguna Hills patients are in for a pleasant surprise with teeth in a day

If an existing tooth is damaged or missing from decay or trauma, a restoration can come to the rescue. As the name suggests, this new tooth or tooth part is made and applied to restore function.

There are generally two different types of restorations:
  • Direct - Made inside of the mouth, and includes tooth fillings
  • Indirect - Made outside of the mouth, and includes crowns and veneers
The direct procedure can be completed in a single visit. Traditionally, the indirect option requires multiple visits that generally include:
  • Examination, tooth preparation - X-rays; root canal therapy (if needed); treated tooth reshaped to accommodate the restoration’s size; paste or putty applied to make an impression of the treated tooth; temporary crown added to cover and protect prepared area while the permanent crown is made in an outside lab
  • Permanent dental crown placement - A few weeks later, interim crown removed; permanent lab-made restoration is temporarily placed; dentist checks for fit, shade; local anesthetic used to numb tooth; new tooth cemented into place
At Löberg Professional Dental Corporation, we have the new technology to design, make, and place indirect restorations in one visit. The E4D dental system doesn’t require putty or paste because we don’t need to make an impression of your mouth. We collect all the information needed to make your new tooth digitally. That information is sent to a machine, which creates a virtual model of the tooth to be treated.

Dr. Leif E. Löberg and his team use software to adjust your tooth virtually – resizing, reshaping, and shading as needed. After the digital model of your tooth is complete, a high-tech milling unit uses this information to make the restoration.

Thanks to the E4D technology, we can place your tooth in one visit. All steps of the restoration process are covered in one appointment. There is no fear a temporary crown will fall out, necessitating an extra visit, because there is no need for a temporary in the first place.

We have the technology to offer teeth in a day in Laguna Hills. With the traditional process, you might encounter an unwanted surprise, such as a restoration that doesn’t quite fit after weeks of waiting for the lab to fabricate the tooth. Since we offer these services in-house, we can check the restoration and make any changes within a few hours of the initial examination and X-rays. Schedule your restoration appointment with us at (949) 525-9424.
