Face Lift
Approximate duration of surgery: 3-5 hours General Anesthesia or Local Anesthesia
The Procedure
As people age, gravity pulls down the facial tissue, creating loose skin. The most prominent change in an individual’s aging face, comes from the jowls, the soft tissue lateral to the chin. With various approaches and techniques, a face lift can lift the underlying tissue and tighten loose skin. A facelift also smooths wrinkles and restores volume to areas of the face in need of a more youthful look. There is no cookie-cutter way in which to perform a face lift. A good face lift is unique, and must be tailored based on the individual’s degree of loose skin, facial volume distribution, skin condition, and whether or not the neck must be lifted. A face lift incision is made in front of the ear, leaving a tiny and inconspicuous scar at the skin crease.
